Turks and Caicos a Safe Haven for Sea Turtles

The Turks and Caicos Islands often conjure images of crystal blue waters, white sand beaches and endless sunshine, but did you know that these Caribbean islands are also home to incredible sea turtles?

Now more than ever, the islands are making the protection of these special animals a top priority through the Turks and Caicos Islands Turtle Project. By implementing turtle tagging, or placing a trackable device on a turtle, conservationists can study the habits of these highly-migratory animals to ensure they stay on the islands for years to come.

The next time you’re visiting the site of Rock House, keep your eyes open for these enchanting animals–you’re likely to at least see one!
