June 2020 Turks and Caicos resorts update

Greetings to the many supporters of Rock House.

During what has been an incredibly challenging time for the hospitality & tourism industry in the Turks & Caicos Islands, we decided that a message of hope and positivity was long overdue. And in doing so we felt the need to remind ourselves of the beauty of the Turks & Caicos and its storied history as a special destination for second home ownership.

We are pleased to see Rock House emerging as an inspirational force in the Turks & Caicos, following the past few months when our tourism businesses were forced to close. With the recent announcement of the reopening of our economy to our travelers on July 22, the spirit in the country has grown enormously while Rock House actively builds on this excitement.

Our real estate team continues to field inquiries and we are expecting that the return of tourism to our shores will restore inquiring buyers to this amazing resort project. As you will see from the attached aerial photography, the project has advanced considerably, with several homes reaching roof level and the resort main pool and its adjacent building advancing considerably. With the majority of cottages sold – only 7 of 28 cottages remain – we are expecting strong interest once activity returns to the country.

Since the reopening of the construction site on May 11, the safety of our working men and women on site has been prioritized, following local health guidelines, while new protocols have been implemented and the project adapts to our new environment. Whereas these guidelines have added unexpected new steps to our processes, the construction continues unabated and the project is advancing well.

Although it should be normal to expect the closure of works to cause some delays to our completion timeframe, we remain focused on our target date of 2021, with a goal of late summer/fall. Naturally, we will know more as we learn what unseen challenges this health crisis may have brought, but for the moment all signs are positive for Rock House. We will keep you updated on this in the weeks and months that follow.
